RVWRMP

2025-08-01

The Rural Village Water Resources Management Project (RVWRMP) was implemented in partnership with RVWRMP and Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality from 15 July 2018 to 15 December 2021. The project focused on promoting Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality of Bajura District. With a total budget of NPR 11,153,853, the project directly benefited around 1,500 households, while reaching a wider population of 3,866 families through improved access to safe drinking water and sanitation awareness.

The project aimed to ensure sustainable water resource management, increase access to clean drinking water, improve hygiene practices, and support community-led sanitation initiatives. In addition to WASH services, the project also integrated agriculture-based livelihood support, helping families engage in agri-business activities as a means of economic empowerment.

Through construction of water supply schemes, hygiene awareness campaigns, and community capacity-building, the project significantly improved health outcomes, reduced waterborne diseases, and strengthened local ownership of WASH infrastructure. The integration of agriculture and income-generating activities contributed to building resilience and enhancing the overall well-being of the target communities. The RVWRMP stands as a successful model for multi-sectoral development, combining health, infrastructure, and livelihoods for lasting community impact.
